About this event

What's at stake this year for our immigrant & refugee community at the state legislature is important to ensure our state is a place where all kids and families feel safe and have the opportunity to develop and reach economic mobility regardless of their status. A place they can call home.

We are partnering with the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) to host a youth panel and discuss what educators and community members can do inside and outside classrooms to support immigrant & refugee students, followed by a networking reception.

Join your TFA Nashville-Chattanooga, Tennessee Educators of Color Alliance (TECA), and the Nashville Teacher Residency (NTR) community on Thursday, April 14th at 5:30 PM CT and walk away with multiple tools and resources to advocate for change and take action.

We will live stream this event via ZOOM for our community members outside the Nashville area.

Safety Precautions:

  • We are closely monitoring COVID-19 rates for Nashville and Davidson County and will determine a cancellation or postponement, if necessary, by Monday, April 11, 2022.
  • We ask that you wear a facemask upon enterig the TIRRC facility
  • Capacity will be limited in order to ensure physical distancing, so registration for this event will be required.
